Observations The CA blackworm (Lumbriculus variegatus) looks like an earthworm. The head portion is darker and thicker than the tail region.
Explanations The head of the Lumbriculus is used for maneuvering and eating while the tail end is used for gas exchange. The worm has two main blood vessels (closed circulatory system), one moves blood to the head while the other moves blood to the tail.
