Gooseneck barnacles in rock crevices
Location http://bilbo.bio.purdue.edu/~npelaez/images/100698.JPG
Observations The gooseneck barnacles have very sharp shells and are clustered on the rock and in spaces between rocks.
Explanations Gooseneck barnacles do not move and rely on surrounding waters for food and nutrients. They have strong, hard, and sharp shells that keep predators from walking on them. They resist drying out and are found in all the intertidal zones.
