Location http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:World%E2%80%99s_largest_whale_skeleton_at_the_Seymour_Center_at_Long_Marine_Lab.jpg
Observations A reconstruction of an entire whale using its bones.
Explanations Vertebrates, or animals that have a skeletal structure for body support, leave bones behind after their death. These bones can be placed together to recreate the skeletal frame of that animal. Bones can be examined to determine what animal the bones came from.
