Red clover with moth
Location http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Image:Red_clover_and_moth.jpg
Observations A red clover bloom with a brown moth drinking from the bloom.
Explanations Red clover plants are producers. This means that they make their own energy and food and do not need to eat other organisms to gain energy and live. Red clover use the sun, water, and carbon dioxide to go through photosynthesis and make their own energy to grow, bloom, and reproduce. The moth drinking nectar from the bloom is a consumer because it relies on other organisms for energy.
